Injured Kamla to attend party’s thanksgiving
Saturday 6th February, 2010
Despite being injured in a fall yesterday, newly elected UNC Political Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, will attend her party's thanksgiving and celebration event at Rienzi Complex in Couva this evening.
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar was discharged from the St. Clair Medical Hospital around 3 on Saturday afternoon.
She's scheduled to address the victory function sometime after 8 o'clock tonight.
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar sustained a small fracture to her left shoulder when she fell in
Parliament yesterday.
As the House of Representatives broke for tea, the Siparia MP had made her way to the public gallery to arrange a meeting with members of the PSA when she tripped on the carpet and fell.
She was in immense pain and was taken to the St. Clair Medical Hospital accompanied by fellow MP's, Dr. Tim Gopeesingh and Subhas Panday.
