Tuesday 27th July, 2010
Riding high on the tide of victory after claiming the Arima, San Fernando, Tunapuna/ Piarco and Diego Martin corporations, Mr. Dookeran told his councillors it was time to buckle down for the job. He described the partnership's landslide victory as a tremendous mandate. He said the citizens who have not supported the partnership must not be discriminated against.
Meantime Deputy Political Leader of the COP and St. Augustine MP Prakash Ramadhar warned the elected representatives that there was no excuse for failure.
The Congress of the People won control of two regional corporations, one borough and several seats in four major electoral districts.
